Linear FX platform
Post-trade workflows, simplified
Background
Facing performance and usability limitations across a set of related trading applications, a major investment bank decided to build a new post-trade workflow platform from scratch in order to integrate and streamline various daily tasks. I was brought in to lead the design effort, working closely with the development team to deliver a modern, user-friendly platform.
Trade tickets
While the back-end team focussed on the data flows and APIs, I started with the design of the trade tickets. Establishing a clear and consistent information hierarchy across multiple products was the key to delivering a simple, intuitive layout.

Design system + component library
As the platform grew, it became clear that a design system was needed to maintain a coherent user experience. I led the creation of the design system in Figma and a corresponding component library in Storybook, ensuring that the design and development teams could work in parallel without losing alignment.
Post-trade workflows
The platform supported a range of post-trade workflows - roll, split, early termination, etc. These all followed a multi-step wizard pattern to simplify each flow and guide the user through to completion. Error states and cross-team interactions were carefully choreographed to ensure a smooth user experience.
Conclusion
Post-trade workflows that had been previously been split across multiple systems with many manual steps were successfully integrated into a single process on the new platform, saving many hours and improving booking accuracy and compliance. In addition, the design system - the first of its kind in the bank - laid the foundations for the development of a bank-wide design system by a central design team.
